Guests

If you use fasttypingpracticetest without an account, we do not store any personal record of your activity. Anonymous, aggregate usage signals (like a page view or a session identifier that isn't tied to your identity) may be recorded to help us understand overall traffic, but nothing about a guest's typing results, text, or keyboard settings is ever saved to our database.

Registered users

If you create an account, we store your email, username, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). We also store the results of tests you complete - words per minute, accuracy, and similar metrics - so we can show you your own progress over time and, if you choose to participate, rank you on the leaderboard. We store any custom practice texts you choose to save, and your keyboard layout preferences, so they're available across your sessions and devices.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data. We don't share your typing results or saved texts with anyone outside the operation of the service itself.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party tracking or advertising cookies at this time.

Your data

You can edit your username and password at any time from your profile. If you'd like your account and its data deleted, contact us through the site and we'll take care of it.
